So when compared to the 7700X, the Core i9-13900KS is only around 3% to 5% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X. Take into account how much you can afford to spend and the value of the processor over time. INTEL F PROCESSORS

Like the Intel K and KF series processors, the F series chips are also considered mainstream desktop processors. Overclocking enthusiasts will also find this series particularly appealing, as these processors have been pre-trimmed by Intel to run at higher frequencies.

From gaming, streaming, and content creation to video editing, they are all well within the KF CPU capability as long that you pair it with a high-performance graphics card (GPU). I’m optimistic that the Core i9-13900KS draws more power than the Core i9-13900K as well.

This makes them an excellent option for overclocking, and they are priced lower than the K processors. But the 7700X is 52% cheaper than the Core i9-13900KS in today’s retail market. But Hardware Unboxed was able to test and review one. If you have no intention of overclocking your CPU, it's best to choose a non-K series processor.

The only difference between the two series is the K series' integrated graphics, making the KF series slightly lower in price. The Ryzen 7000X3D CPUs are expected to be released next month, February 2023.

Finally, now that you have one of the fastest CPUs in the market, why not pair it with the fastest GPU available in this current generation?

In October last year, Intel® released its 14th generation of desktop processors (CPUs), all based on the Raptor Lake Refresh architecture. Although, I’m positive that the Core i9-13900KS performs much better in productivity than the Ryzen 7 7700X. Meanwhile, the Core i9-13900K can only reach 5.80GHz.

But keep in mind that as shown by the people over at anandtech.com, despite its marginally lower clock speeds (we are talking only a 0.1-0.2 GHz difference) compared to the KS series CPU, the Intel® Core i9-14900K is still a fantastic option, only slightly outperformed by the Intel® Core i9-14900KS on single-threaded tests.

Regarding the Intel® Core i9-14900F, we don’t feel like recommending it at this point in time for its current price, mainly because of its relatively low performance compared to cheaper alternatives.

Intel recently released the “world’s first” 6GHz desktop processor – the Core i9-13900KS.

Intel® Core i9-14900KF and Intel® Core i9-14900K both perform very well in terms of average CPU mark, even if only slightly better than their 13th gen predecessors.

The Intel® Core i9-14900KS comes out on top when compared to the F, K, and KF series CPUs, although the last two are not too far behind. That’s only a 200MHz difference.

The KS variant has a higher base power rating of 150W, 25W higher than the K variant. Still, the former is a significantly expensive CPU.

Pricing and Availability

The 13th gen Intel Core i9-13900KS special edition processor is now available and comes with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $699.

In other words, the F series processors are not designed for overclocking like the other two. But let’s say you are more on the blue team (Intel); you will probably run into CPU models with letters like F, KF, and K. These were not part of the processor options in the past, so it might be a bit confusing initially.
